Hard at work!
As the title alludes to, been hard at work for Little Devils. Got some cool concept drawings for the main cast, but gonna hold off until I have all four of them finished and completely. It's been really sweet to just be drawing with pencils again, but definitely gotta keep the painting aspect in mind.

UPDATE!
Holy cow! BLOG UPDATE?! BY GOLLY, YES IT IS!
So, a little news. Been painting quite a bit. Very slowly, I might add. But at least I have pieces to show. Animation has taken a bit of a back seat, but if I know myself, the bug will bite and I'll be forced to work myself back into animation some more. I'm sitting on some ideas so I'll be fleshing those out to be ready for animation.
And now for a taste of what I've been up to before moving on to bigger news.
But here's a big announcement to no one! Little Devils is now on it's way to being copyrighted as a legitimate story! WOOOOOO! I feel really good about letting that out. Though, the hard work is still to be done. I'll soon be spreading the news about the IP and showing the characters and the world! VERY, VERY EXCITED TO SHOW THINGS. But still have to produce all of it first. Like I said, hard part still left to be done.
Anyhow, here's a picture of a main protagonist, the Crimson Blade, in her hero garb!

I went a bit crazy on this one, experimenting and exploring the style that I'm doing my best to capture. I need to push my poses more, but I do think I was able to get some of her attitude. Still much more to explore and push.

This is just a quick digital painting I did using a quick sketch that I drew down in the subways. I really just wanted to play around with crazy lighting and color situations since the trains aren't that interestingly lit. Learned quite a bit from this.

NEW Painting Update!
So, my first week of my internship is going pretty darn well. I think I'm making a good impression on the team. I've had to do a bunch of grunt work, but it looks like next week I should be able to start doing some animation stuff. I've already started to do some style sheets and character exploration of the company's characters. The characters are already cool as puppets and illustrations, but they don't work as animated characters. So, I've been sketching away to get more appeal out of them as well as make them work-able in the 3D space without losing the identity established with what the company already has. I think I'm on the right track, but I'll find out on Monday whether or not the boss approves. And I'll also find out if I'm allowed to post some of those drawings up on here.
But in the meantime, while I'm still going through my new sketchbook of train drawings and cataloging them, I have a new painting to show off! It's quite different in style comparatively to my last two paintings, but I think I'm starting to understand my "style" of painting.

I'm actually quite proud of how this turned out. I'm going to keep painting like this for a while until I feel comfortable again to start hitting gradients. The goal eventually is to be able to render my paintings as if they were rendered in 3D. Slowly and surely!
Stay tuned for my next update with more sketches from the subway!
